Australia’s 15 Year Old Talent – Mark Vincent

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

Australia’s 2009 talent. You can see/hear 5 performances by Mark Vincent, just keep on watching. Last song he sings is “You raise me up”.
Mark has a beautiful voice BUT… nobody can sing “You raise me up” like Josh Groban! (I wish Josh would concentrate more on opera than ‘pop’ music!!) That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it….

Earthquake in Pakistan

Monday, January 18th, 2010

A big earthquake with the strength of 8.1 on the Richter Scale has hit Pakistan. Two million Pakistanis have died and over a million are injured. The country is totally ruined and the government doesn’t know where to start with providing help to rebuild. The rest of the world is in shock.
The USA is sending troops to help.
Saudi Arabia is sending oil.
Latin American countries are sending supplies.
New Zealand is sending sheep, cattle and food crops.
The Asian continents are sending labor to assist in rebuilding infrastructure.
Canada is sending a field hospital.
Australia is sending medical teams and supplies.
Britain, not to be outdone, is sending two million replacement Pakistanis.

God Bless British generosity.

Sun Oct 25, 2:12 am ET

SYDNEY (AFP) – Thousands sat down to breakfast on the Sydney Harbour Bridge on Sunday after the iconic structure was closed to traffic and carpeted with grass for the first time for a giant picnic.

About 6,000 approved early risers were on the steel bridge from 6:30 am to take part in the two-hour event designed to showcase Sydney’s best food and outdoor lifestyle.

As accordion players and trumpeters provided the background music, those who had won tickets to the picnic in a random lottery munched on fruit, pastries, muesli, yoghurt, and the staple Australian breakfast spread Vegemite.

“It’s amazing to see the bridge in this perspective,” said Sydneysider Don Fuchs of the structure which is used by about 100,000 cars daily.

“Usually you sit in the car, you cross it, and that’s it.”

About 45,000 people had applied for tickets.
