Free Kittens

A pretty little girl named Suzy was standing on the sidewalk in front of her home.

Next to her was a basket containing a number of tiny creatures; in her hand was a sign announcing

FREE KITTENS.

Suddenly a line of big black cars pulled up beside her.

Out of the lead car stepped a tall, grinning man.

“Hi there little girl, I’m President Obama. What do you have in the basket?” he asked.

“Kittens,” little Suzy said.

“How old are they?” asked Obama.

Suzy replied, “They’re so young, their eyes aren’t even open yet.”

“And what kind of kittens are they?”

“Democrats,” answered Suzy with a smile.

Obama was delighted. As soon as he returned to his car, he called his PR chief and told him about the little girl and the kittens.

Recognizing the perfect photo op, the two men agreed that the president should return the next day;

and in front of the assembled media, have the girl talk about her discerning kittens.

So the next day, Suzy was again standing on the sidewalk with her basket of “FREE KITTENS,” when another motorcade pulled up,

this time followed by vans from ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN.

Cameras and audio equipment were quickly set up, then Obama got out of his limo and walked over to little Suzy.

“Hello, again,” he said, “I’d love it if you would tell all my friends out there what kind of kittens you’re giving away.”

“Yes sir,” Suzy said. “They’re Republicans.”

Taken by surprise, the president stammered, “But… but… yesterday, you told me they were DEMOCRATS.”

Little Suzy smiled and said, “I know. But today, they have their eyes open..”

Mommy and her Little Girl

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

A mother is driving her little girl to her friend’s house for a play date.
‘Mommy,’ the little girl asks, ‘how old are you?’
‘Honey, you are not supposed to ask a lady her age,’ the mother replied. ‘It’s not polite.’
‘OK’, the little girl says,
‘How much do you weigh?’
‘Now really,’ the mother says, ‘those are personal questions and are really none of your business.’
Undaunted, the little girl asks, ‘Why did you and Daddy get a divorce?’
‘That’s enough questions, young lady! Honestly!’
The exasperated mother walks away as the two friends begin to play.
‘My Mom won’t tell me anything about herself,’ the little girl says to her friend.
‘Well,’ says the friend, ‘all you need to do is look at her driver’s license. It’s like a report card, it has everything on it.’
Later that night the little girl says to her mother, ‘I know how old you are. You are 32.’
The mother is surprised and asks,
‘How did you find that out?
‘I also know that you weigh 130 pounds.’
The mother is past surprised and shocked now.
‘How in Heaven’s name did you find that out?’
‘And,’ the little girl says triumphantly, ‘I know why you and daddy got a divorce..’
‘Oh really?’ the mother asks. ‘Why?’
‘Because you got an F in sex.’

Only a Mother Would Know

Cup of Tea

One day my mother was out, and mydad was in charge of me.

I was maybe 2 1/2 years old. Someone had given me a little ‘tea set’ as a gift, and it was one of my favorite toys.

Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought Daddy a little cup of ‘tea’, which was just water.

After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home.

My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was ‘just the cutest thing!’

My Mom waited, and sure enough, here I came down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy; and she watched him drink it up.

Then she said, (as only a mother would know),

“‘Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water is the toilet?”

Pink Dress

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

Don’t let your day go on without reading this first, no matter how busy you may be!!!

The Pink Dress

There was this little girl sitting by herself in the park. Everyone passed by her and never stopped to see why she looked so sad. Dressed in a worn pink dress, barefoot and dirty, the girl just sat and watched the people go by. She never tried to speak. She never said a word. Many people passed by her, but no one would stop…

The next day I decided to go back to the park in curiosity to see If the little girl would still be there.
Yes, she was there, right in the very spot where she was yesterday, and still with the same sad look in her eyes. Today I was to make my own move and walk over to the little girl. For as we all know, a park full of strange people is not a place for young children to play alone.

As I got closer I could see the back of the little girl’s dress.. It was grotesquely shaped. I figured that was the reason people just passed by and made no effort to speak to her. Deformities are a low blow to our society and, heaven forbid if you make a step toward assisting someone who is different.
As I got closer, the little girl lowered her eyes slightly to avoid my intent stare. As I approached her, I could see the shape of her back more clearly. She was grotesquely shaped in a humped over form…
I smiled to let her know it was OK; I was there to help, to talk.

I sat down beside her and opened with a simple, ‘Hello’.
The little girl acted shocked, and stammered a ‘Hi’; after a long stare into my eyes. I smiled and she shyly smiled back. We talked until darkness fell and the park was completely empty. I asked the little girl why she was so sad. The little girl looked at me with a sad face said, ‘Because, I’m different.’
I immediately said, ‘That you are!’; and smiled.
The little girl acted even sadder and said, ‘I know.’
‘Little girl,’ I said, ‘you remind me of an angel, sweet and innocent.’
She looked at me and smiled, then slowly she got to her feet and said,’Really?’
‘Yes, you’re like a little Guardian Angel sent to watch over all the people walking by..’
She nodded her head yes, and smiled. With that she opened the back of her pink dress and allowed her Wings to spread, then she said, ‘I am. I’m your Guardian Angel,’ with a twinkle in her eye.
I was speechless — sure I was seeing things.
She said, ‘For once you thought of someone other than yourself. My job here is done’..
I got to my feet and said, ‘Wait, why did no one stop to help an Angel?’
She looked at me, smiled, and said, ‘You’re the only one that could see me,’ and then she was gone. And with that, my life was changed dramatically..

So, when you think you’re all you have, remember, your angel is always watching over you.

Like the story says, we all need someone… and, every one of your friends is an Angel in their own way.
The value of a friend is measured in the heart. I hope your Guardian Angel watches over you always.
